Get to know the amazing team behind The Red Lion! This incredible local venue in Cheadle offer more than any other place we work with. We can’t wait to host our own Singles Night with them but, for now, read on to learn more about their regular offers and events:
What does The Red Lion offer to locals?
The Red Lion is an independently run, family friendly pub which focuses on great service and delicious food and drinks. The pub has been lovingly styled to honour the classic traditional features whilst creating a modern twist in the space. The smell of yummy food as your enter is always a talking point and the menu boasts classics such as Fish & Chips and Pie of the Day as well as the signature main, Feather Blade of Beef, served with bone marrow gravy, triple cooked chips and salsa verde. The lunch menu offers more freshly made options which work for a speedy lunch hour or a leisurely experience. The classic club has been on the menu from the beginning and is an absolute favourite.
The bar team can shake some pretty tasty classic cocktails as well as serving up a cracking pint of Guinness…(and as we all know, if you like Guinness, you know where the places to drink Guinness are!)
The pub is a popular place for hosting parties, gatherings, meetings and celebrations as the team have a wealth of experience in delivering such events. They have brilliant finger, sandwich and fork buffet menus as well as the ability to create bespoke menus. The pub can be booked in part or as a whole and the team are super flexible and helpful. There are also various networking events, social events and craft workshops which make the Red Lion a community hub. They are always open to ideas and suggestions and are great supporters of start-ups and small businesses who need a space to use.
The team also run a yearly burger competition where the winners burger is sold in the pub! It is all geared around National Burger Day in August and the entries are whittled down to the final three before they are all made and scored by the kitchen team. The winner brings three friends along with them to enjoy the burgers for free as part of their prize. It’s a popular competition with over 60 entries…and it really is a fun way for the team to engage with the regulars who come to the pub week in, week out.
The team plan and host their very own Festive Markets in the carpark every year where there are multiple independent traders selling amazing goods. There is a shed selling boozy hot chocolates, face painting, carol singing from by the local parishioners and even Santa comes along to see the kiddies, read to them and give them a special present! This is a fabulous event in the Red Lion Calendar and one never to be missed.
We have monthly live music, a fantastic weekend Happy Hour deal, an unbelievable mid-week offer which is currently 20% off all food and drink on Wednesdays and Thursdays and it is well known in the local area that the team serve the best Sunday roast around!
How long have you been running it?
The team took the pub on during Covid and spent the lockdowns lovingly restoring the pub into the beauty that it is today!
What do you most want people to know about?
With many years running city centre venues, the team understand that in order for the business to survive in these very difficult times it has to offer lots of things to lots of people. It is the type of pub that you would take your parents to, or a first date to. The kind of place where you take your kids because its safe and people are behaving themselves, where you catch up with the girls and enjoy a lush bottle of wine.
The venue is clean, there is clearly a lot of attention to detail. The team obviously care about the place and the experience that their guests have in it. You feel that oozing as the time passes you by. From competitions to quizzes, parties to markets, cocktails to carbs, the Red Lion is so much more than a boozer. The food is the best around, fresh ingredients, cooked by a team who have worked together for well over a decade and who really care.
The front of house team are just as passionate and the service is just as good as the plates created in the kitchen. We want people to know that when they spend their hard earned cash…that they should spend it with us…because we are giving everything we can to create the best overall experience…We want people to know that when you visit us at the Red Lion, the term hospitality is at our core and not an afterthought!
