📅 Sunday 9th August, 11am at The Met (M20 2WS)
📚 Join us for a relaxed Sunday morning at The Met ~ bring a book, grab a brew and settle in.
📕 The first 20 minutes or so, there will be optional introductions. I’ll ask everyone to share their name, what tempted them to come along and what book you’ve brought.
📙 You absolutely don’t have to take part in this but I have found that it can be a nice way to settle into the space.
📒 We’ll then enjoy around 40 minutes of quiet reading together, each with our own book.
📗 One of my favourite quotes is from A.S. Byatt:
“Think of this – that the writer wrote alone, and the reader read alone, and they were alone with each other.“
📘 We can also be ‘alone with each other’ as we enjoy our books.
📓 Please do get up, move around, get another drink, leave early if you’d like to… this is your time!
📖 The last half an hour will be another window for optional socialising.
💡 Everyone is welcome to share any reflections on what they just read and there will also be the option of a book themed quiz.
