In our fast paced world, burnout is becoming increasingly common but, fortunately, we’re talking about it more too. Rachael is a GP who is also an experienced coach and is here to help support you to build better boundaries and find the confidence to prioritise your wellbeing while navigating the pressures of a busy life. Read on to learn more about what she offers:
Tell me a little about what led to you setting up independently. What was your background before this?
I’m a GP by background – and I became frustrated at seeing so many people (patients, colleagues and myself!) experiencing stress and burnout that was affecting their health and their happiness.
I decided to train as a coach so I could use my skills and personal experience to support people to take back control of their wellbeing so they can thrive in their lives and their work.
I now specialise in working with professionals, leaders and business owners who want to pull back from burnout, build their belief in themselves and prioritise their wellbeing without sacrificing their ambitions.
I still work in the NHS as a GP (and privately as a menopause specialist doctor at Rowena Health and Manchester Menopause Hive) – so I’m very aware of what it’s like to work in a high pressure environment.
How can people work with you now?
I work with clients 1-1 over zoom and also offer walking coaching sessions in the local parks around Didsbury and Chorlton. Coaching in nature is a great way to expand your perspective and think clearly – all while getting some steps in!
I offer a variety of ways to work with me, but my Shine Bright coaching programme is my most popular coaching option – and my clients have seen fantastic results in terms of improving their wellbeing, confidence and overall sense of balance from working with me over 3-4 months on this programme.
Why is the work you do so important to you?
It makes real difference to people’s lives – not just to the people I work with directly – but the ripple effect of supporting someone to prioritise their wellbeing and build their self belief positively impacts their families, their colleagues, their teams and their communities.
For example – when my clients start to set boundaries with confidence, make decisions without overthinking, and make time to take care of their health – all while doing work that is meaningful to them – this enables them to show up feeling energised and present for those around them.
It’s about supporting people to live, work and lead in line with their values – and that to me is so valuable.
What would you most like people to know about what you do?
That change is possible. That you don’t have to keep pushing through or pretending you’re fine. Coaching isn’t about fixing you and it’s definitely not a quick fix—it’s about giving you the space, tools, and insights to navigate what’s ahead with more clarity and confidence – and giving you the support to make it happen.
Also, there’s a lot of misconceptions about coaching and what it is and what it isn’t. In my practice, I use evidence based coaching approaches and incorporate positive psychology interventions and tools to support my clients in a way that is unique to them and their needs – there is no one size fits all approach.
